NBHS Seniors on senior walk

In a heartwarming tradition that blends nostalgia with celebration, Buncombe County Schools’ Class of 2025 donned their caps and gowns to take part in this year’s Senior Walks, a symbolic journey back to where their educational stories began.

With smiles, hugs, and even a few tears, graduating seniors returned to the elementary, intermediate, and middle schools that helped shape them. As they strolled the familiar hallways, they were met with cheers, high-fives, and handmade signs from younger students, some wide-eyed, some starstruck, all inspired by the future they too are working toward.

The event offered seniors a chance to reconnect with former teachers, many of whom stood proudly along the route, ready with hugs, applause, and words of encouragement. For educators, it was a powerful reminder of the impact they’ve made over the years.

At Community High School, the tradition took on a unique twist as seniors walked the halls of their own campus, cheered on by current students and staff. The moment was a celebration of perseverance, growth, and the close-knit community that defines the school.
