The NC Athletic Directors Association (NCADA) is celebrating champions of school athletics programs, including four Buncombe County Schools teammates.
Enka High School Athletic Director Brian Carver was named NCADA Athletic Director of the Year. Coach Carver is among the elite group to earn the distinction of Certified Master Athletic Administrator by the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association and was honored for his continued commitment to continuing his education and dedication to student athletes.
Erwin High Athletic Director Matt Carpenter and North Buncombe High Athletic Director David Hines were honored with Citation Awards. The NCADA presents the award to individuals who have worked to have significant positive impacts on their schools, conferences, and regions over the last year.
NCADA presented BCS Superintendent Dr. Rob Jackson with its Distinguished Alumni Award. The award is given annually to a graduate of a North Carolina Public School who has worked to support education-based athletics.
The North Carolina Athletic Directors Association presented the awards earlier this week in Asheville, as it concluded its annual conference.
