Hi there! I am a sixth grade social studies and science teacher. My teammates are Andrew Beasley and Scott Kessler. I joined the team here at North Windy Ridge School in 2015. I started my career in Colorado, where I received my master’s in Curriculum and Instruction and taught in Jefferson County Schools. I moved here in 2001 and joined Buncombe County Schools at W.D. Williams Elementary where I taught fifth grade. I went to Evergreen Community Charter School to be their Information/Learning Technology Facilitator and stayed for four years. In 2008, I received my National Board certification. I then spent three years at home with my two sons. In 2009, I did a year at Francine Delaney in fourth grade and then went to Asheville City Schools to be an Intervention Specialist. I held that position for three years before requesting a return to the classroom in 2013. This coming year will be my 21st  year in public schools (yikes!). I love being on the Buncombe County Schools team!

Mr. Kessler,  Mr. Beasley and I had success teaching virtually in the spring. We're feeling good about our plans to start the 2020-2021 year off with virtual instruction. I can't wait to meet my next group of students and their families on Zoom and then, with any luck, in person.
We will be having a meet the teacher Zoom event on Wednesday August 12th at 10 a.m. The link  will be posted here.
