Hello "Bear" Family,
We are so happy you have joined our team.  I spent many hours this summer looking for my perfect team and I found 88 wonderful boys and girls to join us in our day to day adventure of math.   I am so glad you are here!  I am spending countless hours trying to make my lessons interesting, fun, and exciting.  At times we will be working with manipulatives,  computers, TI-Inspires, Video with the Flip Cameras, Smart board activities, and many more.  I hope you enjoy your time in middle school but you need to make smart, thoughtful decisions because many people will be watching and counting on you.  See you at school.

EBLEN Pumpkin Sales

Posted by Stacie Keitt at 9/24/2012
We will be collecting money for Eblen.  Please send in your pocket change.
The funds raised through the pumpkin sales will assist local children with various medical and emergency needs including medication, medical supplies, food, clothing, glasses, transportation, and financial support.

Of course, as with all things Eblen Charities does, we would not be able to have such a successful campaign without the support of our sponsors. This year’s sponsors include: Ingle’s Markets, Pepsi, Clear Channel Radio, Verizon Wireless, Nike, and Outback Steakhouse.

If you would like further information regarding Eblen Charities Pumpkin Sales or any other program or event, please contact Susan Riddle at (828) 255-3066 or at

Dance tickets will be sold the week of the dance.  Tickets are $5 and proceeds go towards field trips, donations for Eblen, or The American Cancer Society, just to name a few.  When students enter the building in the mornings, tickets will be sold in the gym.  Please find the table where the coaches are taking up the money.  They will ask you for your homeroom teachers name and your name.  Thank you for supporting our causes.

Solar Bags during Spring Break

Posted by Stacie Keitt at 4/7/2010 9:00:00 AM

This week we will be exploring the solar bags in Science mostly but the data they record will be used during math class.  We will be predicting, measuring, calculating, and exploring temperature using the solar bag.  During math class we will calculate the length in customary and metric measurement along with calculating the circumference and area.  This is a wonderful interdisciplinary unit of study.

Hello Parents and Students,
We have just completed our second Saturday school.  It was a fantastic day.  Each block finished the area and circumference test.  Please remember to bring a calculator every day to math class.  We will be using them daily up until the EOG test.  Also, we are starting our Solar Cars project in Science.  Mrs. Biggers and I have been planning potential, kinetic, and solar energy.  In math we will also be usig the solar cars to learn about measurement, time, and speed.  You do NOT want to miss a day!
See you on Monday :)
