About the Counseling Program at North Windy Ridge:

Do you ever wonder what is “normal” for a pre-teen?

Are you concerned about your child’s academic progress, but aren’t sure what to do about it?

Have you seen changes in your child recently that concern you?

Is your child being teased at school?

Does your child feel like he/she has no friends at school?

If any of these questions or concerns sounds familiar, call your child’s school counselor.  We’d be happy to work with you, your child, and/or your child’s teacher to help him/her be successful at North Windy Ridge.

Also, at North Windy Ridge, students participate in monthly classroom guidance lessons with the counselor.  Lessons cover such topics as stress management, study skills, assertiveness skills and how to recognize bullying.  Students can also participate in small group or individual counseling.  Students are referred for these activities through teachers, parents, or through self-referral.  Counseling sessions are confidential unless a student is threatening to hurt himself/herself or are being threatened or hurt by someone else.

Additionally, we may be able to connect your family with some community resources.  Please call or email if you are interested in any of the above activities.
