Staff Biographies

Kimberly Ferguson
Mrs. Ferguson has taught since the year 2000 at both Johnston Elementary and North Windy Ridge.  She completed her undergraduate work at Clemson University and UNC Asheville.  She received her Masters of Education from Gardner-Webb University.  She is Nationally Board Certified and has a Reading Specialist License. She oversees North Windy Ridge's Title 1 program as the Lead Reading Specialist with Jeremy Aten.

Barbara Jacon
Mrs. Jacon retired from North Windy Ridge in 2017 after 32 years in the classroom. She has a B.A. in Education form U.N.C. Chapel Hill, and has taught all the elementary curriculum in a variety of schools and grade levels throughout her career. However, her heart lies with the North Buncombe community as her husband and two children are graduates of N.B.H.S. Go Hawks!

Kaitlyn Young
Miss Young earned a Bachelor's degree in Religious Studies at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. She is planning on earning her Masters in Education in the next few years. This is her first year in the Title One Program.  

Peggy Williams
Mrs. Williams is a retired Buncombe County Schools teacher and spent her teaching career in the North Buncombe district. She previously taught English/Language Arts and Social Studies before retiring from North Windy Ridge School.  This is her third year in the Title One program.

Liz Miles

Mrs. Miles is the newest member to our team, but she is not new to North Windy Ridge. Mrs. Miles earned a BA in Environmental Studies from Maryville College and a Master's in Teaching from Western Carolina University. She has taught at Erwin Middle School and Evergreen Community Charter School. She has also been a tutor at North Windy Ridge. She has three daughters in the North Buncombe School District.
