Fifth graders got to know their teachers and solve lots of fun math games during a fifth grade launch event this week.

NWR fifth grade teachers Suzie Johnson, Tara Teague, and Stacie Keitt led students through parts of the Julia Robinson Mathematics Festival, which creates engaging math experiences, develops math games, and trains educators how to inspire joy with math.

"It was wonderful to give the students a sampling of what is included in Math Festivals," Ms. Johnson said. "Students were engaged, challenged and excited to participate in more of these sessions throughout the year."
