Sixth Graders Take Part in Math Fair

Several sixth grade students recently took part in the NC Math Fair.  The following information was shared with me by one of the students.   
"For this event, we had to prepare a mathematics based project, and display it on a trifold board.  My project, for example, was based on math in astronomy, and the other project from my class was on costs of green energy. We had to present our project to a panel of two judges, who would judge out projects on mathematics, presentation, creativity, and so on.  There were three regional math fairs, which we attended, and then the winners of that, (first, second, third place as well as an honorable mention) got to proceed onto the state math fair in Durham."  The link to the website for more information is:
