Dear Parents and Students,

It is with excitement that we begin the 2016-17 school year.   We had a wonderful year last year, both academically and socially.  Our 5th grade students raised the bar in Science, improving more than 14%, and our 6th grade students continue to be at the top of our District for growth in both Reading and Math.   We had more than 400 students participate in after school activities and clubs.  Our 6th grade students loved their first annual school dance.  We rolled out our 1:1 Lenovo devices in January to lots of success!   We have a staff of dedicated individuals who believe that your child can be successful!

I realize the importance of positive working relationships between community and school. In my opinion there is nothing more important that I can instill in young people than a love for learning and a sense of pride and respect for family, school and community.

It is my expectation that the upcoming school year will be a successful one for all NWR students and staff. One where each student is a valued individual with unique physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs.

The door is always open to parents, students, staff and community members who desire to share concerns or ideas to help the school prepare our fifth and sixth graders to become contributing members of the 21st century. I want to thank you in advance for your support of NWR Intermediate School.

I look forward to working with you this year!

Sincerely,

Brent Wise, Principal
